January is done!!! Time to donate the savings!

So here is the breakdown:

Total miles rode in January:  170.31 miles  (as per My Tracks-2011-Jan)

Current Diesel Fuel price at my local Turkey Hill:  $3.55 a gallon (see pic below)

My savings per mile:  .27 cents  ($3.55 gallon divided by 13mpg)

Total savings:  $45.98  (170.31 miles times .27 cents a mile)

$45.98 divide by 2 = $22.99 per charity.

I will be mailing a check to both charities for $22.99 each.

Snow, ice, and salt...

Ride detail:

• Weather: Clear, 14 mph wind, and 23 degrees
• Traffic:  Moderate but a little crazy
• Sightings: Slippery ice patches.
• Notes: I put on my snow tires.  They worked great on the ice patches and snow.  There's little spikes in the tires.  Check out the picture below.
